Details: At approximately 2145 hours on April 10th, 2015 William F. Scott II was driving a Cadillac SUV eastbound in inside lane of the East Freeway (Interstate Highway 10). Kyle Dawkins was driving a Yahama motorcycle in front of Mr. Scott. Mr. Scott failed to control his speed and struck the back end of the motorcycle with the Suv’s front left. The front portion of the Cadillac drove on top of the back of the motorcycle. Both vehicles remained together as one unit as the continued eastbound and eventually came to rest. The driver of the motorcycle was knocked off during this crash and slid to rest on the improved inside shoulder. Mr. Dawkins was wearing a helmet at the time of this crash and the helmet sustained damage. He sustained serious bodily injury as a result of this crash and was transported to the hospital via life flight. Shortly after arriving at the hospital Mr. Dawkins was taken into emergency surgery for severe bleeding in the brain. Mr. Scott exhibited signs of intoxication from the introduction of alcohol into his body. Mr. Scott was arrested and charged with Intoxication Assault. At 1148 hours on 04/11/15 the Mr. Dawkins died from the injuries he sustained from this crash and the charge was upgraded to Intoxication Manslaughter.
