The Houston Police Department is investigating an incident in which an HPD officer’s patrol vehicle was vandalized and shot at in the 3400 block of Drew about 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
No one was injured in the incident.
“An on-duty HPD South Central Patrol officer was en route to a dispatched call for service near the above address when he heard several strikes hitting the outside of his patrol vehicle,” HPD Homicide Division Officers S. Overstreet and D. Stark reported. “Unsure of what the sounds were, the officer drove away from the initial area and then checked the outside of his patrol vehicle. The officer saw several marks and a possible bullet hole in the back of the vehicle.”
Further investigation determined the damage came from a pellet gun.
At this time, there are no known witnesses nor suspects.
