HCSO releases sketch of suspect wanted in brutal daytime attack of woman

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man responsible for the brutal attack and sexual assault of a woman in broad daylight near the North Freeway.
The attack occurred Aug. 11 around 9:30 a.m. on Century Plaza Drive in north Harris County, HCSO reported. The 49-year-old female victim was walking near the North Freeway when the suspect, who was driving a newer-model silver Ford Mustang, offered the victim a ride, which she declined.
When the victim was near the 200 block of Century Plaza Drive, the suspect exited his vehicle, chased the woman down and dragged her into a grassy field.
The victim tried fighting off the suspect, but the man slammed her on the ground several times before dragging her deeper into the field, according to HCSO.
The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and threatened to murder her before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is described as an Oriental and/or Hispanic male in his late 20’s to early 30’s. He is approximately 5-foot-7 with an average build.
