Robbery turns fatal shooting at Channelview club
One man is dead and two more are in the hospital after gunfire erupted outside of a Channelview-area night club early this morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
The shooting occurred at about 2:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Diamante Negro Disco (Black Diamond) night club, located at 15934 East Freeway near Sheldon Road, HCSO reported. Three unknown Hispanic male suspects ambushed and robbed 52-year-old Inocencio Quiroga-Alvarez as he was leaving the club.
“The suspects displayed handguns and struck Mr. Quiroga several times while taking his property from him,” Sgt. R. Spurgeon reported. “Mr. Quiroga attempted to fight back and was shot at least one time. The suspects continued to shoot indiscriminately, shooting Mr. Oscar Balderas Pulido, 21, in the leg, and Mr. Aurelio Pulido, 38, in the chest while he was attempting to drive out of the parking lot.”
Pulido died at the scene from his injuries. Balderas-Pulido and Quiroga-Alvarez were transported to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.
This is the second consecutive weekend that a homicide occurred in the night club’s parking lot. On Nov. 22, a man was killed after a suspect hit him with his car and crushed him into a taco stand in the parking lot.
Anyone with information in the shooting is asked to call HCSO’s Homicide Unit at 713-967-5810 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
