Details: On Sunday August 16, 2015, at approximately 0140 hours, the defendant, Martin Kingori, was operating a grey 2005 Volkswagen Touareg, westbound in the 2600 block of W FM 1960, with his four year old daughter, Zahara Kuria, seated in the front right passenger seat, unrestrained. The complainant, an unidentified Hispanic male, was operating a black 2002 Acura eastbound in the 2600 block of W FM 1960. The defendant attempted to make a U-turn, in the middle of the roadway, in order to travel eastbound onto W FM 1960. In the process of making the U-turn, the front of the Acura struck the passenger’s side of the Volkswagen. The unidentified Hispanic male operating the Acura was found on scene with no signs of life. The defendant’s daughter was transported to Northwest Hospital, for non life threatening injuries. The defendant showed signs of impairment on scene, was arrested and charged with Intoxication Manslaughter. This case is currently open and under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Enforcement Division.
