Suspect Arrested, Charged in Two Fatal Stabbings and One Assault at 6500 Dunlap Street, Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in two fatal stabbings and one assault that all occurred at an apartment complex at 6500 Dunlap Street on separate dates this year.
Walter M. Oliver (b/m, 29) is charged with two counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 185th State District Court. A photo of Oliver is attached to this news release.
Oliver is charged in the murder of Leondra Addis, 41, and Jennifer Hebert, 60. Additionally, Oliver is charged in the aggravated assault of Angela Booker, 40.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Watson and E. Attebury and Detectives J. Caten and M. Barrow and Officers I. Rois-Hernandez and J. Cimeni reported:
On May 28, at about 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased woman found wrapped in a tarp inside a dumpster at 6550 Hillcroft Street (same apartment complex as 6500 Dunlap). The victim, identified as Ms. Addis, had suffered multiple stab wounds.
On June 21, at about 2:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of a deceased woman found in a locked bedroom. Initial reports were the victim, Ms. Hebert, had suffered multiple stab wounds and had died a few days earlier.
On July 12, about 12:45 a.m., officers responded to a report of an assault at the above address and located Ms. Booker, who had suffered multiple stab wounds. She was transported to an area hosptial in critical condition.
Oliver was arrested on July 17 and charged with stabbing Ms. Booker.
Further investigation identified Oliver as a suspect in the death of Addis and he was charged in her murder on August 21. On Monday (November 29), Oliver was also charged in the murder of Hebert.
At this time, the department does not believe there are any additional victims and there is no continuous threat to the general public.
