Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1300 West Loop North (West Interstate Highway 610 North) about 5:20 p.m. last Friday (Dec. 3).The identity of the male victim, 30, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer D. Ortega reported:Witnesses stated a blue Jeep Renegade was traveling at a high rate of speed at the above address when the driver appeared to increase speed before losing control. The Jeep struck the concrete divider separating the freeway from the West 18th Street exit ramp, veered to the right and struck a retaining wall. The driver, who did not appear to be wearing his seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.The investigation is continuing.JFC/VHS 12-6-21Inc #161951321-U
