Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 2700 Dunlavy Streetabout 4:55 p.m. on January 16.
The identity of the female victim, 83, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Ogden and Officer N. Duval reported:
A white Mazda CX-3 was traveling westbound in the 1600 block of Harold Street and made a left turn onto Dunlavy at the above address. The victim was walking eastbound in the crosswalk on Dunlavy Street when she was struck by the Mazda. The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced her deceased on Tuesday (January 25).
The driver of the Mazda remained at the scene and was questioned and released pending further investigation.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
