Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 10500 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 12:50 a.m. on Saturday (Aug. 6).The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer F. Flynn reported:The male was driving a gray Chrysler 300 at a high rate of speed northbound at the above address. It appears he did not realize the roadway had a dead end, with only a right turn. The Chrysler jumped the curb at the dead end and struck a concrete freeway pillar. The impact caused the driver to be ejected and the vehicle to burst into flames. Paramedics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.The investigation is continuing.JFC/VHS 8-8-22Inc #104364522-B
