INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $42,500 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $7,500 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (heat source too close to combustible).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene within five minutes to find light smoke coming form a 2-story apartment. They located and extinguished a fire in a wall that was caused by maintenance personal sweating a pipe in the wall. Crews opened the adjacent walls to ensure there was no extension and completed salvage and overhaul. The Red Cross was notified for the displaced residents. Firefighters from Stations 2, 21, 46, 33, 37, 48, 8 and 24 responded to this incident.
