Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6909 Ashcroft Street

Charges have been filed against a suspect in the fatal shooting of one man and the wounding of two others at 6909 Ashcroft Drive at about 5:55 a.m. on Sunday (October 26).
The suspect, Mainor Omar Matamoros Nataren, 30, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 482nd Criminal District Court. A booking photo of Matamoros Nataren, who is hospitalized, is not available at this moment.
The identity of the deceased male, 18, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Two additional males were injured.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a two shooting victims at an area hospital who had been transported via private vehicle.  Officers then searched then searched the area where the victims were believed to have been transported from but found no additional victims.
Approximately an hour later officers responded to a shooting at the above address, which was several blocks away from the address that was originally searched. Officers discovered an unresponsive male in the doorway of an abandoned, unmarked, and unlicensed after-hours club in the strip center. An second male was located on the sidewalk. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the first male deceased and transported the second male in critical condition.
Detectives learned the shooting occurred after an argument inside the establishment on Ashcroft in the 4 a.m. hour. After the shooting, everyone at the club fled, leaving the two males behind without calling for help. Investigators determined Matamoros Nataren, who was hospitalized with at least one gunshot wound, was the suspect in this incident. Detectives consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s Office and Matamoros Nataren was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
