HOUSTON, TX — As Harris County enters the summer months, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office launched “Operation Heat Wave” to proactively address increasing violent crime trends within Northwest Harris County.
The coordinated effort took place from May 19 to May 22, 2026. Participating agencies included the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Constable Precinct 1, Harris County Constable Precinct 4, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The joint operation resulted in 63 arrests on charges ranging from family violence and organized criminal activity to narcotics violations, with 39 felony and 24 misdemeanor charges filed. In total, officers cleared 115 warrants, seized 11 firearms, recovered 9 stolen vehicles valued at approximately $500,000, and confiscated cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, and other controlled substances.
