Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7600 Bellaire Boulevard that occurred about 2:15 a.m. today (December 2).
The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Pham and Officer D. Hoang reported:
A white Dodge pickup truck was traveling eastbound near the above address when the victim, driving a white Honda Accord, southbound on Fondren Road, ran the red light at the intersection of Bellaire and was struck on the passenger side by the pickup truck. The Honda then went off the roadway and struck a fence.
The driver of the Honda (victim) was pronounced deceased. The driver of the pickup truck, who was determined not to be impaired, remained at the scene and was questioned and released.
No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
