Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12300 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) service road about 11:05 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 4).The identity of the female victim, 56, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer T. La reported:A white Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on the East Freeway and took the exit ramp to merge onto the service road. The victim, a pedestrian, was attempting to collect some hand tools that dropped from the vehicle she was traveling. The woman jogged from a nearby parking lot and into a moving lane of traffic on the service road when she was struck by the Ford. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased.
