Houston police are investigating the shooting of a woman that occurred at 12400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday (Feb. 22).
The female victim, 20, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officer L. Castellanos and H. Martinez reported:
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found a disabled vehicle in the main lanes of traffic on the freeway. The victim had sustained a gunshot wound to her rib cage and was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to the hospital.
Witnesses inside the vehicle stated a light-colored sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed when the suspect shot at the victim.
