Group altercation leads to shooting on Kowis Street

A juvenile has been arrested and charged with deadly conduct following a shooting incident that stemmed from a group altercation on Kowis Street, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, April 4, 2025, at approximately 10:15 p.m., deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office District 2 Patrol responded to the 3000 block of Kowis Street after reports of an aggravated assault. Upon arrival, they discovered that a physical fight between two groups of males had escalated into a shootout.

One male was critically injured, having been shot multiple times, and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Two other individuals involved in the altercation were detained at the scene.

Detectives from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Offenders Unit took over the investigation, learning that several suspects had fled before law enforcement arrived. During the investigation, it was determined that one of the detained individuals, a juvenile, had fired into the crowd. The juvenile was arrested after the discarded firearm was found, and he was charged with deadly conduct.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to identify and locate other individuals involved in the incident.
