Strip Center Fire in The Sunnyside Area

WHAT: Strip center fire.
WHEN: May 6, 2025, at 1:22 a.m.
WHERE: 8930 Cullen Blvd. 77051.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
CAUSE: Under investigation (incendiary).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from a 1-story commercial strip-center building. Electrical lines were arching, and CenterPoint was requested to secure the utilities. Crews made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. The fire was controlled and contained with no extension to the other parts of the structure. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 40 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 55, 23, 26, 46, 24, 35, 55, 37, 33, Rescue 42 and Rehab 42.
