Nov. 25, 2025 — The Harris County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the FBI, the DEA Houston Division, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Texas Department of Public Safety, today announced the results of a major multi-agency warrants roundup targeting violent fugitives across the region.
Law enforcement teams worked side by side to track down suspects wanted for aggravated robbery, sexual assault, crimes against children, and other violent felony offenses.
In total, 80 arrests were made and 103 warrants were cleared, including 96 felony warrants, during the weeklong operation. Fifty-three of those warrants involved crimes against children.
“These operations require planning, intelligence, teamwork, and trust,” said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. “Every day a violent fugitive remains at large is another day they have the opportunity to harm someone. We refuse to let that happen.”
Sheriff Gonzalez emphasized that the success of the warrants roundup reflects a unified commitment to protecting victims and holding violent offenders accountable. “Today’s results send a clear message: If you commit violent crimes in Harris County, we are coming for you,” he said.
Serial Sexual Assault Suspect: Joshua Aaron Gomez
One of the most significant arrests from this coordinated operation involved 43-year-old Joshua Aaron Gomez, who is accused of a years-long pattern of sexual assaults and indecent offenses across multiple Texas counties.
To date, 13 women have come forward, and detectives believe there may be more survivors who have not yet reported their encounters.
During this week’s operation, the Violent Persons Warrants Task Force located Gomez at his home in Katy and took him into custody without incident. Felony sexual assault charges have been filed in Hidalgo County and Harris County, with additional offenses under investigation.
Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child: Roberto Arnaldo Vasquez III
Between 2020 and 2021, Vasquez is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl.
On Nov. 17, Texas Department of Public Safety special agents and members of HCSO’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team (VCAT) pursued an open aggravated sexual assault of a child warrant for Vasquez.
Working together, investigators tracked him to a home in the Cloverleaf area of eastern Harris County, where he was taken into custody.
Extradition of Former Teacher Accused of Abusing Students: Wilfred Sequeiros
Wilfred Sequeiros, a former elementary school teacher and soccer coach with Klein ISD and Houston ISD, is accused of sexually and physically assaulting at least seven children between the ages of 7 and 10 from 2014 to 2019.
During preparations for this warrants operation, HCSO identified the open cases and collaborated with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force (GCVOTF) to locate Sequeiros in Peru. Working closely with the Peruvian government, federal partners with the United States Marshals Service coordinated his extradition.
Sheriff Gonzalez thanked federal and state partners for their coordinated efforts. At the heart of this operation, he added, are the victims and survivors.
“At the center of every warrant served is a victim and a survivor whose life was forever altered. These arrests will not erase the harm done, but they stop further violence and bring our community one step closer to healing. To every survivor: your courage guides this work, and we remain committed to protecting you and supporting you.”
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting residents, supporting survivors, and reducing violent crime through intelligence-driven enforcement and strong multi-agency partnerships.
