HOUSTON, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect responsible for a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of 33-year-old Christopher Brown.
On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at approximately 5:15 a.m., investigators say Brown was walking in the roadway in the 13900 block of F.M. 529 near Jackrabbit Road when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound. The driver failed to stop and render aid. Brown died at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
“The victim in this case is still somebody’s friend, loved one… He was important,” said Deputy Austin Howard with the HCSO Vehicular Crimes Division. “We need the community to come together if they have any information about it.”
Months later, Brown’s family continues to grieve while seeking justice. “He was a kind person, and he wanted to start his own fashion line,” said Dexter Brown, Christopher’s father. “All those plans we had together, we can’t do.”
Investigators have since developed new details using evidence recovered at the scene. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 2013 to 2024 Toyota 4Runner, likely with visible damage to the front left side, including a broken headlamp and damage to the lower front bumper and grille. The color of the vehicle is unknown at this time, but the photo below highlights where possible damage may be seen.

Investigators believe someone may have seen the vehicle or knows the identity of the driver.
“It’s important that we keep working for Christopher and his family,” Deputy Howard added. “More than likely, someone has information about this crash. One tip can make a difference.”
“Please be responsible and help bring us closure,” Dexter Brown urged.
Crime Stoppers of Houston is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477) or the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division at 713-274-7400.
