The Houston Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting of a man Thursday night at 6300 Rampart Street.
The identity of victim, 55, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
“HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address,” HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Escobar and G. Zavala reported. “They found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.”
A witness told officers that two unidentified males, at least one of them armed with a firearm, approached the victim and fired multiple shots, striking the man. The suspects are described only as black males with dark complexions and are believed to be in their 20s. They fled the scene on foot and later got into a light-colored four door vehicle, last seen driving westbound on Elm Street.
