Apartment Fire in The Greater Uptown Area

WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: February 1, 2025, at 9:22 p.m.
WHERE: 10220 Memorial Dr. 77024.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $150,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heat and smoke coming from the back sliding door of an apartment unit and made entry. They conducted a primary search and extinguished a small fire in the kitchen. There was extensive smoke and heat damage throughout the apartment. Crews ventilated the smoke from the unit and determined that the fire started in the kitchen near the stove and appeared to be unintentional. 38 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 5, 28, 38, 50, 62, 57 and Heavy Rescue 11.
