Vacant Commercial Structure Fire in The Meadowbrook / Allendale Area

WHAT: Vacant commercial structure fire.
WHEN: March 3, 2025, at 2:04 a.m.
WHERE: 8000 block of Howard at Winkler Dr. 77017.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $40,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Under investigation.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire coming from a vacant commercial structure and made an offensive attack. They forced entry and the fire was quickly controlled. The were no active utilities to the structure and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin. 36 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 23, 20, 26, 29, 40, 36, 24 and Rescue 42.
