2-Alarm Metal Shop / Warehouse Fire in The Second Ward Area
WHAT: 2-alarm metal shop / warehouse fire.
WHEN: April 12, 2025, at 7:07 p.m.
WHERE: 3900 block of Fox St. 77003.
INJURIES: A firefighter was evaluated for smoke inhalation.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $600,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as accidental.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy fire coming from a metal shop/warehouse and made an offensive attack. Crews worked to protect nearby exposures, including a house. A transformer and powerlines were also consumed by the fire and CenterPoint was notified. A second alarm was requested, and the fire was brought under control. One firefighter was evaluated for smoke inhalation. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 96 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 9, 36, 15, 23, 6, 8, 19, 20, 7, 17, 18, 27, 39, 40, 30, Heavy Rescue 11, Rescue 42 and Rehab 42.
