Houston, TX- The Harris County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police Department, Harris County Constables, Metro Police Department, Responsibility.org, Lyft, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), will hold a press conference to announce a coordinated effort to combat impaired driving throughout Memorial Day weekend.
WHAT: The initiative includes increased DWI enforcement, no-refusal blood draws, and prosecutorial support to streamline the arrest process for suspected impaired drivers. Additionally, a rideshare discount incentive will be offered to encourage the public not to drive impaired.
