On Sunday, May 5, 2024, at approximately 1:00AM, Harris County Sherrif’s Office Homicide investigators were dispatched to the Haverstock Hills Apartments located at 5619 Aldine Bender Road in reference to a murder. Harris County Sheriff’s Office Patrol deputies responded to the apartment complex and located a black male lying on the sidewalk in front of building 16 with multiple gunshot wounds. EMS attempted to treat the complainant, but his death was confirmed on scene, and he was not transported. There were no witnesses that observed the shooting. Several tenants heard multiple shots fired but did not see who committed the shooting. Homicide and Crimes Scene Investigators arrived and began to process the scene. Homicide Investigators were able to talk to a few witnesses and possibly developed a suspect. After the scene investigation was complete, and the complainant’s body removed by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity of the complainant is unknown at this time. His information will be later released at the conclusion of the autopsy and after next of kin have been notified.
