Apartment Fire in The Second Ward Area

WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: March 11, 2025, at 6:09 p.m.
WHERE: 200 block of Edgewood St. 77011.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: Not available.
DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE:  Under investigation (appears to be accidental – electrical).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from a residential structure with individual rooms rented by tenants. Crews made an offensive attack and ventilated the building. A primary search was completed, and the fire was extinguished. CenterPoint was notified to secure the utilities and HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 39 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 18, 23, 19, 20, 27, 40, 17 and 24.
