Apartment Fire in The Northside / Northline Area

WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: January 20, 2025, at 8:18 a.m.
WHERE: 101 E. Tidwell Rd. 77022.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $550,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $50,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (unattended cooking).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the second floor of a 2-story apartment building. They made an attack on the fire and conducted a primary search. Crews controlled and extinguished the fire that was caused by unattended cooking. Four apartment units were damaged. The American Red Cross was requested for the tenants. 37 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 31, 15, 34, 30, 58, 67 and Heavy Rescue 11.
