2-Alarm Townhome Fire in The Greater Uptown Area

WHAT: 2-Alarm townhome fire.
WHEN: January 23, 2025, at 7:23 p.m.
WHERE: 2600 block of Bering Dr. 77057.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.

CAUSE: Unintentional.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the roof of a 2-story townhome. They made an attack on the fire, forced entry, and conducted a primary search. Crews pulled the ceiling on the second floor and patio. A firefighter was injured when he stepped through the balcony and was transported to the hospital with a knee injury, and a second alarm was requested. Firefighters fully extinguished the fire and ensured all hotspots were completely out. 95 personnel responded to this incident, including crews from Stations 33, 16, 2, 5, 28, 68, 37, 51, 60, 10, 57, 8 and Rescue 1.
