House Fire in The South Belt / Ellington Area
WHAT: House fire.
WHEN: February 9, 2025, at 5:16 p.m.
WHERE: 13700 block of Eastbourne Dr. 77034.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
PROPERTY SAVED: $190,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $15,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: Unintentional (unspecified electrical short).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke coming from a 1-story house and found fire in the attic. They controlled the fire and placed plastic over the contents in the rooms to prevent them from being damaged from the water and ceiling that had been pulled down by the crews to extinguish the fire. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the residents. The fire was caused by an electrical wire that arced on a structural beam. 37 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 93, 70, 71 and 94.
