Apartment Fire in The Acres Home Area

WHAT: Apartment fire.
WHEN: February 23, 2025, at 11:58 a.m.
WHERE: 1415 W. Gulf Bank Rd. 77088.
INJURIES: No reported injuries.
 
PROPERTY SAVED: $250,000 in estimated property saved.
DAMAGE: $100,000 in estimated damage.
CAUSE: HFD Arson investigators ruled the cause as incendiary, not arson and made a referral to the HFD Juvenile Fire Stoppers Program.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire coming from the second floor of a 2-story apartment building. They made an offensive attack, finding a unit heavily involved, and conducted a primary search. Crews checked for extension and controlled the utilities. The building was ventilated, and the fire was controlled within about 25 minutes. HFD Arson investigators were requested to determine the cause and origin of the fire. 58 personnel responded to this incident, including firefighters from Stations 2, 4, 34, 64, 50, 56, 67, 74, 84 and 57.
