Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12700 Gulf Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 12700 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) service road about 6:25 p.m. on Thursday (February 20).
The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer N. Luu reported:
The male was running across the freeway service road when he was struck by a white Honda Pilot traveling northbound on the service road.  A witness stated the male was running from west to east before he was struck.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The driver of the Honda remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
