Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in a fatal crash at 9100 Ley Road about 12:50 a.m. on Sunday (April 13).
One suspect, Tony Bernard Cherry, 45, is charged with felony driving while intoxicated (third offense) in the 176th State District Court.  The other suspect, Raymond Joe Mynar, 61, is charged with driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #4..
The identity of the deceased female, 52, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer C. Ballard reported:
The female was a passenger on a black Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling westbound at the above address when the bike’s operator (Cherry) observed brake lights of a stopped vehicle, a gray Chevrolet Traverse, in the same travel lane.  When Cherry swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid a collision, he lost control and laid the motorcycle down on its left side, causing him and the female to be ejected.  It appeared no contact was made with the Chevrolet.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the female deceased at the scene.  Cherry was transported to an area hospital with head and upper body injuries.  Neither the operator nor passenger was wearing a helmet.
It was learned the Chevrolet’s driver, Mynar, was asleep behind the wheel, with the vehicle in drive and his foot on the brake pedal at the time of the crash.
Mynar and Cherry exhibited signs of intoxication and were eventually transported to the Harris County Jail.
The investigation is continuing.
