Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 14833 Katy Freeway

The fatal shooting of a man at 14833 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) that occurred about 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday (May 20) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased man, 37, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The male shooter, 23, was not injured in the incident.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Ponder and Detective J. Meister reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at a hotel. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene. The shooter fled the scene and later turned himself in to the Sugar Land Police Department.
After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined the case would be reviewed by a grand jury.
The investigation is ongoing.
