Investigation into Fatal Crash at 700 North Sam Houston Parkway West

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 700 North Sam Houston Parkway West (Beltway 8) service road about 9:10 p.m. on Thursday (May 22).
The deceased male is identified as Maxie Davis, 40.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Richards and Officer T. Smith reported:
A white Mazda CRX was traveling eastbound on North Sam Houston Parkway West. A silver Ford Mustang was traveling southbound on Greens Crossing Boulevard. Both vehicles collided at the intersection of North Sam Houston Parkway West and Greens Crossing Boulevard.
Paramedics pronounced the male driver of the Mazda, later identified as Mr. Davis, deceased at the scene.
The driver, 25, and two juvenile male passengers, 3 and 5, in the Ford were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, Marcos Morales Guzman, was determined to be impaired and subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated with child in the 230th State District Court. A booking photo of Morales Guzman, who is hospitalized, is not available at this time.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.
