UPDATE: Suspects Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 10315 Dulcimer Street
Charges have been filed against two suspects arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 10315 Dulcimer Street about 11:25 p.m. on February 26.
One suspect, Jordan T. Smith, 32, is charged with capital murder in the 178th State District Court. The second suspect, Desmore Letre Modlist, 27, is charged capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 185th State District Court. Their booking photos are attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Craig Johnson, 37.
The second victim, 32, is expected to survive his injuries.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective D. Hobson reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and found two males inside the home. Both males, who were roommates, had suffered gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced one of the men deceased at the scene and transported the other to a hospital.
Officers learned two unknown black male suspects exited a vehicle, held one victim at gunpoint in the driveway and demanded entry into the residence. Upon gaining entry, the suspects fired multiple rounds, striking both victims. The suspects fled the scene in a newer model, dark SUV.
Further investigation identified Jordan T. Smith and Desmore Letre Modlist as suspects in this incident. On April 17, officers arrested Smith and on May 27, officers arrested Modlist. Both suspects are charged for their roles in this incident.
