Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 6968 Wilcrest Drive

Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal stabbing of a woman that occurred at 6968 Wilcrest about 12:10 a.m. on Saturday (June 14).
The suspect, Santos Hernandez Cornejo, 53, is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court. A booking photo of Hernandez Cornejo is attached to this news release.
The identity of the victim, 50, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Cass and Detective J. Brown reported:
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a business at the above address and found the female inside the business suffering from multiple stab wounds. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed the female and her boyfriend, suspect, had an argument in parking lot of the business and he chased her inside the business where he stabbed her multiple times. He then fled on foot.
The suspect was identified as Hernandez Cornejo. He later turned himself in to police and admitted to his role in the death of the victim. He was subsequently charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
