Morale and interest in becoming a firefighter in Houston are at an all-time high,” said Mayor Whitmire. “This new direction is a result of new leadership in the department and the successful contract negotiated with the union. The result will improve public safety and response times for EMS and fire calls. I thank Chief Munoz for the work he is doing within HFD.”
