HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and N. Solomon reported:
A white Chevrolet Impala was traveling westbound at the above address as a high rate of speed. The Chevrolet failed to maintain a single lane and struck a black Ford F-450 also traveling westbound.
The driver of Chevrolet, Wilian Lopez Fonseca, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries and was determined to be impaired.
A female front passenger in the Chevrolet was also transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
A female back passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where doctors pronounced her deceased.
The occupants of the Ford were not injured.
Preliminary investigation indicated the Impala may have been racing another vehicle, believed to be a pink INFINITI Q50. Officers located that vehicle abandoned near the scene of the crash.
Investigators consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s office and Wilian Lopez Fonseca was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
