Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1900 Flower Garden Lane

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash at 1900 Flower Garden Lane about 6:45 a.m. today (July 8).
The identity of the deceased male, 40, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer A. Hart reported:
A white Ford Escape was traveling westbound at the above address when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and landscaping rock as it jumped a curb and went into a retention pond. The vehicle became fully submerged. Officers with HPD’s Dive Team located the driver inside the pond. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.
The investigation is continuing.
