Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 11106 Sageheather Drive

Houston Police are investigating the apparent accidental shooting of a juvenile male at 11106 Sageheather Drive about 4:55 p.m. on Sunday (July 13).
The identity of the deceased male, 12, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detective A. Herrera reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence at the above address and found an unresponsive male. He had suffered a gunshot wound and Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators learned the male and a sibling were playing inside the residence when a firearm was found. The weapon accidentally discharged, striking the juvenile.
The investigation in ongoing.
