Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10300 East Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 10300 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 6:50 a.m. on Sunday (July 20).
The identity of the deceased female is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer T. Tran reported:
The driver of a white GMC Acadia was traveling eastbound at the above address when the driver struck a pedestrian. The female pedestrian was standing on the main lanes of the freeway. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the female deceased.
The driver of the GMC Acadia remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
