Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 4500 Pershing Street about 9:45 p.m. on February 3, 2025.
The suspect, Demetrius Donte Jackson, 20, is charged with murder in the 176th State District Court. A booking photo of Jackson is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Adam Broomfield, 33.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found an unresponsive male with gunshot wounds nearby in the parking lot of a gas station at 7401 Cullen Boulevard. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the man, later identified as Mr. Broomfield, to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigators learned there was an altercation among a group of females before a black male opened fire, striking the victim. The victim collapsed in the parking lot. The suspect fled the scene.
Further investigation identified the suspect as Jackson and on Monday (July 21) he was arrested by HPD’s Southeast Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team.
