Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7901 Leonora Street

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7901 Leonora Street about 9:50 p.m. on Saturday (July 26).
The identity of the deceased female, 2, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and Officer R. Singleton reported:
A black Ford F150 pickup truck was pulling out of a parking spot at an apartment complex at the above address when the vehicle struck the child. Paramedics transported her to an area hospital where doctors pronounced her deceased.
Investigators learned one of the child’s family members had arrived in the Ford to deliver items. During that time, the child got out and was eventually struck. The male driver, 17, remained at the scene and spoke to officers.
The investigation is ongoing.
