UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged Fatal Stabbing at 7314 Bigwood Street
Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal stabbing of a man at 7314 Bigwood Street about 12:15 a.m. on June 8.
The suspect, Harrison Dewayne Robinson, 55, is charged with murder in the 177th State District Court. A booking photo of Robinson is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Alex Edwards, 37.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens reported:
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence at the above address and discovered a male suffering from multiple stab wounds lying on the floor of the residence. Family members inside the house pointed out the suspect, who was hiding inside a back room. The suspect was detained without incident.
Both the victim and suspect were transported to area hospitals. The victim, identified as Mr. Edwards, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Multiple witnesses stated the suspect and victim had an altercation that turned physical and led to the victim being stabbed. After consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the male was released and investigation continued.
After further investigation, detectives consulted the DA’s office and a murder charge was accepted. Northeast Patrol Division officers arrested Robinson on Monday (July 28) and he was booked in the Harris County Jail.
