Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 2528 Calumet Street
Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 2528 Calumet Street about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday (July 30).
Omar Marzouk, 38, is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court. A current booking photo of Marzouk is attached to this news release.
The victim is identified as Jimmy Arevalo, 32.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Duncan and Detective J. Jorsch reported:
The male victim was power washing outside a business at the above address when the suspect confronted the victim and an altercation occurred. Witnesses stated the altercation escalated and the victim was shot. The suspect then fled in a gray Toyota Tundra.
Further investigation identified the suspect as Marzouk and after consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office he was charged for his role in the shooting.
On Thursday (July 31) Marzouk was arrested by members of the Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team and booked into the Harris County Jail.
