Investigation into Fatal Crash at 13800 Northwest Freeway

Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 13800 Northwest Freeway at about 12:32 a.m. today (August 11).
The identity of the deceased male, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Rose and Officer T. Hudson reported:
A Kenworth cement mixer truck was traveling outbound at the above address when the driver struck a pedestrian. The pedestrian was standing on the shoulder and stepped onto the main lanes of the freeway. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
The driver of the cement mixer remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication, and was questioned and released.
The investigation is continuing.
