Investigation into Fatal Crash at 8600 North Loop East 

Houston police are investigating the fatal auto-pedestrian crash that occurred at 8600 North Loop East (North Interstate 610) at about 7:25 a.m. today (August 15).
The identity of the deceased male, 68, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Trevino reported:
The male pedestrian was on the main lanes of the freeway near the above address when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make or model. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to provide assistance and fled the scene. Responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.
At this time there is no known vehicle or suspect description.
