Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 12500 Church Road

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 12500 block of Church Road at about 3:25 p.m. on Monday (Aug. 18).
The identity of the victim, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective L. Brooks reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and located a male lying inside a residence with at least one gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased.
Investigators learned the victim was taking out some trash when a witness reported hearing multiple gunshots. A short time later, the victim went into the residence and collapsed in the doorway.
At this time, there is no known motive or suspect(s) description.
