Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 9300 Country Creek Drive

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash in the 9300 block of Country Creek Drive about 9:50 p.m. on Sept. 5.
The suspect, Yimy Ricardo Ulloa-Padilla, 20, is charged with failure to stop and render aid in an accident involving death in the 262nd Criminal District Court and driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #11. A booking photo of Ulloa-Padilla is attached to this news release.
The deceased male is identified as Ricky Ornelas, 34.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant Y. Ramirez and Officer C. Ballard reported:
A white Ford F150 truck was traveling southbound at the above address when it struck a pedestrian who was in a moving lane of traffic. The Ford failed to stop and render aid and continued southbound. The pedestrian, later identified as Mr. Ornelas, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officers later located the Ford truck at 11660 West Bellfort Avenue and detained the driver, Ulloa-Padilla. He was determined to be impaired. Officers consulted the Harris County District Attorney’s office and he was subsequently arrested and charged.
