Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7900 Comal Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 7900 block of Comal Street about 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday (October 22).
The identity of the victim, 54,  is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives C Sharp and D Crowder reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and located a male with gunshot wounds inside a crashed vehicle. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Investigators learned the male was driving the vehicle when he confronted an unknown male who was on a bicycle. During the confrontation, shots were fired and the victim was struck. The vehicle then crashed into a telephone pole. The suspect fled the scene southbound on foot.
